When I retired from my jewelry design business I decided to return to something I was passionate about in my younger days: carving and sculpting in wood. In 2014 I began an online course in letter carving with English Master Woodcarver Chris Pye and found this craft especially satisfying. It allows me to combine my love of wood, detailed hand-carving, and calligraphy.
Aside from carving, my greatest joy is spending time with my four young grandchildren. I’m also a Meals on Wheels and hospice volunteer.
Here’s what I do:
Inscriptions for organizations in the Portland, Oregon area including houses of worship, retreat centers, schools and other nonprofits.
Commissions for individual clients.
Panels intended for interior spaces only.
How much will it cost?
Inscriptions vary in cost depending on the panel size, species of wood, the amount of lettering, and whether the lettering will be gilded. After we discuss your project I’ll be happy to provide an estimate. Please use the contact page to get in touch about your project ideas or questions.
All proceeds from my work go to nonprofits serving low-income and vulnerable residents of Portland Oregon. I also donate some of my letter carvings to charitable organizations whose missions I support.
